Our School Council met on April 24th, and we are delighted to share the fantastic ideas and suggestions put forward by our pupil representatives! The meeting was lively and full of creative thinking across all year groups.
We've been hard at work addressing previous requests, and many suggestions have already been implemented or are well underway. Things we have already done include ordering more balls for the playground and brooms for the hall, Glow in the Dark Dodgeball Day, Bring (a photo of) Your Pet to School Day, and ensuring more green milk crates are available. We held a Treasure Hunt before Easter and Year 3 had a school sleepover. We also allowed a film instead of Golden Time in the last week of term. The new football shooting practice nets for the summer are ready, and we do have out-of-school tournaments planned for Cricket and Cheer.
In terms of planning, we're looking forward to activities like 'Splat the Teachers', bringing back assemblies led by Year 6 on school values, and a Teddy Bear Picnic in the summer. We are also actively investigating ideas like house fundraising competitions, playground benches, and a KS1 football team.
While we had to politely decline a few things (like a playground hot tub, whole-school waterslide and a pet tortoise!), the Council's input is invaluable. Thank you to all the representatives for bringing your classes' voices to the table! Keep the brilliant ideas coming!
