Dear Families,

I hope the children came home and talked about the wonderful afternoon that we all had! The sun came out! The hats looked amazing! Much flag waving and munching was done by all! We sang the national anthem and a firm favourite with the children – ‘Sing.’ It was a rather magical afternoon! The team and Year 6 worked incredibly hard to get everything ready and all the contributions made by the children of sandwiches, jellies, scones and biscuits were thoroughly enjoyed by the children. Year 4’s Table decorations, Year 5’s River’s of Hope, Year 6’s Portraits of the Queen and Year 2’s Bunting – all made it very special.

What equally made it special was the sheer effort by YOU all as families! The cakes were bloomin’ amazing! I have never seen so many cakes in one place. We were running out of places to store them this morning! Thank you for coming to buy them! Some of you were crazy enough to buy your own cake back! I do love my parents! From the many shaped crown cakes, to the Union Jacks, the Jubilee Bus, the School Cake, the Victoria Sponges, the cupcakes and everything else – we were blown away! There are still some cakes left which we sell after school tomorrow in the junior playground again! Please do come back!

A massive thank you to you all for making the afternoon truly memorable. We loved being together as a school and we hope that we created a lovely memory for all the children.

Thankyou to Miss Serantes and Mrs Brooker for organising the day and the whole team who simply lifted, shifted, laid tables, moved cakes from A to B and fed and watered our children all afternoon and then tidied up!

Thank you so much! The sun certainly shines on the very best children and people.

Jacqui
