Every child at Cobham belongs to one of our school houses. Children earn house points for their house as part of our school rewards system and compete in houses for various intra-school competitions.
Our houses: Fire, Water, Air and Earth
The Ancient Greeks believed that these were the four elements that make up our world. Aristotle said that everything in the world was made up of different amounts of these elements.

Fire: The element of heat and energy, it always reaches upwards and is the element of the sun and stars. It also represents the amazing achievements of human technology, as the only animal to harness its power (as King Louis of the Jungle Book, another great philosopher, pointed out).

Water: The element of ice, it is always moving and can take many different forms. It represents our incredible thirst for knowledge and understanding as so much of our world is underwater and unexplored..

Air: The element of the skies and flying for our dreams. It represents our gratitude for every breath we take and the way all life on earth is connected. Did you know, for example, that every breath you take contains a little bit of a plankton flatulence?

Earth: The element of safety, responsibility and growth. It represents our duty to care for our environment as well as the hard work we put in climbing mountains to achieve our goals.
